Where the streets have WW1 heroes' names

A street in Stoke-in-Trent has become the latest to be named after a local hero decorated during World War One.

Four generations of Sampson Bridgwood's family were at Trentham Manor to witness the unveiling of the road sign by the city's Lord Mayor, Councillor Anthony Munday.

Second Lieutenant Bridgwood was honoured with the Military Cross for "gallant conduct" during the Battle of the Somme.

A number of streets have been named after soldiers as part of the city council's WW1 100th anniversary commemorations.
