Thirty firefighters tacked the fire at Amazon in Rugeley

One of Amazon's main UK warehouses has been damaged in a fire believed to have been started deliberately.

The fire at the 700,000 sq ft depot in Rugeley, Staffordshire, which started at 02:15 GMT, was contained to a second floor area where orders are picked.

There was some damage to some racking and the internet retailer's stock - mainly clothing.

Cannock fire station manager Tim Hollingworth said the cause was being investigated.

He refused to say if it was suspicious. Firefighters left the scene at 06:00. No-one was injured.
