M6 disruption near Stoke-on-Trent after acid lorry crash

Motorists were advised to avoid the area
There was travel disruption in both directions on the M6 in Staffordshire after a lorry carrying caustic acid collided with a car.
The crash happened between J15, for Stoke-on-Trent, and J14, for Stafford, at about 11:50 GMT.
The northbound side opened after about 90 minutes with the southbound carriageway fully reopened by 17:00 GMT.
The car driver was taken to hospital for injuries not thought to be serious.
Two other passengers in the car were treated for minor injuries.

Just one lane on the southbound side was reopened initially
