Plans for a £1.5m fan-zone at Stoke City's stadium have been unveiled.

The Potters' development would include a main stage, large screen and food and drink outlets, as well as a dedicated children's area.

It has been a long-held ambition to develop venue to enhance the fans' matchday experience, the club said.

If the plans are approved by Stoke-on-Trent City Council, it said work would be completed for the start of the 2024-25 season.

The zone would be built next to the North car park, and would also include covered areas for supporters to congregate.

The club wants to maximise the stadium's potential, chief operating officer Simon King said.

"Much like other parts of our venue, it is our intention for it to be used for way in excess of 20 to 30 home matchdays each year," Mr King said.

"It remains our ambition to hold more significant events at the bet365 Stadium, and clearly a high quality fan zone will be a great addition to our offering."
