A woman whose brother died from a brain tumour is taking on a fitness challenge to raise money for research.

Josh Brown from Stoke-on-Trent died in March 2019, four years after he first became ill.

He had been a fitness fanatic and so older sister Kimberlei Brown decided to a keep fit challenge every day during November to raise funds.

She set up a fundraising group after her brother died which has already raised £8,300 in his memory.

She called it Fighting for a Cure and said her aim was "to keep Josh's memory alive".

Josh had been a football fan and spent a lot of time in the gym where Ms Brown said he first started experiencing headaches.

"This led to problems with balance and coordination so it looked like he was drunk even though he didn't drink," she said.

He underwent treatment, but despite successful surgery, his condition worsened in 2018 and he was eventually placed on palliative care.

He died with his beloved pug dog Diggs lying beside him on the bed, Ms Brown said.

Ms Brown has invited other people to join her in her challenge, which involves doing 30 repetitions, or 30 minutes of any exercise they choose, over 30 days.

She said: "Josh would be at the gym nearly every day, even throughout his treatment.

"It brought him happiness and helped his mental health."
