Burger King has lodged plans to create a new branch in Stafford

Plans have been lodged for a new Burger King at a retail park in Stafford, and would bring with it new jobs, the application states.

The proposal earmarks a unit at The Hough Retail Park on Lichfield Road.

The new restaurant would also include a drive-thru lane.

The site was previously a branch of Frankie and Benny's before it was converted to the Foxearth Car Sales showroom in 2018.

A statement with the application, submitted to Stafford Borough Council, said the development would "generate a range of employment opportunities".

It added that the work would "respect the attractive characteristics" of the building.

Currently, the nearest Burger King branches to Stafford are in Rugeley, Cannock and the Stafford North services on the M6.
