Children's songs and art at lights switch-on event in Tamworth
- Published
More than 500 school children have sung festive melodies to accompany a showreel of their artwork which will be projected on a castle.
The pupils from Tamworth submitted pieces for the reel which included digital art and performances, said organisers.
It will be projected onto Tamworth Castle at 17:00 GMT on Sunday after the town's Christmas lights switch-on.
The borough council said the event also included stalls and fairground rides.
Arts group New Urban Era (Nue) said the showreel projection launched its annual We Are Angels arts trail .
Nue founder Vic Brown said the trail of angel wing designs would weave through the town's buildings and shops, creating a "magical atmosphere".
He added the collaborative effort involved in the reel underscored "the community spirit that defines the We Are Angels trail".
It included performance by the Mercian Singers and Tammy Land Girls as well as work by street artists from across the UK, he added.
