A Winter Wonderland attraction has returned to Stoke-on-Trent for the first time since the pandemic.

The pop-up event takes place on Hanley's Birch Terrace car park and runs until 7 January, except for Christmas Day when it will be closed.

The event was cancelled last year as the car park was due to be redeveloped as part of the council's Etruscan Square scheme.

Owner Michelle Matthews said it was fantastic to be back.

Ms Matthews said the council had helped to ensure all the planning was processed in plenty of time for the spectacle to go ahead.

"It just feels right to bring this to the city at this time of year. It was a pretty dull place without us last year," she said.

Attractions include a helter-skelter, ice rink, fairground rides, arcade games and food stalls.

Ms Matthews claimed it would help brighten up the city centre during the festive period and bring people together.
