Driver dies in crash after van plunges into river in Staffordshire

A van driver died in a crash with a lorry after his vehicle plunged into a river following the collision.
They crashed on Friday at 15:55 GMT in Mill Lane, Lower Loxley, near Uttoxeter, Staffordshire Police said.
Firefighters recovered the body of the van's driver, a man aged in his 30s, from the river on Saturday afternoon.
The victim's family were being supported by specialist officers, the force said.
The lorry driver also struck a bridge which suffered extensive damage, police added.
Anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time is asked to contact the force.
