A man has been arrested after a motorcyclist died in a collision.

The crash on Tuesday in Burton-upon-Trent involved a motorbike and a silver Mercedes.

The rider - a man in his 60s - died at the scene, police said.

A man in his 30s, from Tamworth, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving without a licence, failing to stop after an accident and drink-driving, police said.

Officers were called to Horninglow Road North at about 04:40 GMT.

Police said the man remained in custody.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or had camera footage from the area, has been urged to contact Staffordshire Police.
