Crewe 'superglue and ammonia' attack suspect arrested

Allegations superglue was squirted into a woman's mouth before she was sprayed with ammonia are being investigated by police.

Officers have made an arrest after they were called to West Street, Crewe early on Sunday after reports of an ongoing disturbance, Cheshire Police said.

A bottle of ammonia was recovered from the scene and a man, 20, arrested on suspicion of assault, the force said.

Safeguarding referrals had been put in place for the victim, officers added.

The investigation, involving specialist officers, is ongoing, police say.
