Cheadle murder arrest after two women found dead

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering two women found at a house in Staffordshire.
The man, 68, was detained after the women, 91 and 63, were discovered at the property in Cheadle, near Stoke-on-Trent.
Staffordshire Police was called to Park Lane at about 15:00 GMT on Sunday to reports of a woman's body being found and another woman injured.
Both women were pronounced dead at about 15:50.
People living in the lane, which leads to the Staffordshire countryside, said an elderly woman lived at the house with her daughter and her daughter's husband.
Neighbours described hearing an air ambulance on Sunday afternoon, before other emergency vehicles arrived.
"We were sitting here and the helicopter came over. It made such a noise," said Ted Clowes.
"It's so quiet round here. You just don't think something like this will happen."
Rob Bourne added: "You just don't think that tragedies like this can happen.
"A very sad time for everyone concerned, the families and people who've lost their lives."
Another neighbour said: "We saw the helicopter from our home. It startled us and we came out to have a look.
"I don't know what's happened. You just don't expect it up here. It's so dreadful."
A section of the lane remains sealed off between the house and the town centre.
Forensic investigators were seen entering the dormer bungalow earlier and a police tent was pictured in the garden.
The man remains in custody for questioning, said Staffordshire Police, with officers "keeping an open mind" regarding the circumstances leading up to the women's deaths.
Post-mortem examinations are set to take place tomorrow.
The force is appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
