Three teenagers injured in crash at Ashley

Three teenagers have been injured, one seriously, after their car was involved in a crash with a 4x4 towing a trailer.

It happened at at the junction of Park Lane and the A53 Newcastle Road near Ashley, in Staffordshire, at about 14:40 GMT on Wednesday.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said the air ambulance was deployed, alongside other resources.

One teenager was found to have suffered serious injuries and taken to the major trauma centre in Stoke-on-Trent.

"A second teenager has suffered potentially serious injuries," a spokesman for the ambulance service said.

"He was assessed at the scene along with the third teenager who had less serious injuries."

They were also taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.

The driver of the 4x4 was assessed, but was uninjured and was discharged at the scene.
