Suffolk outdoor swimming pool reopened

An outdoor swimming pool in Suffolk which had to close because it needed expensive repairs has reopened.
Waveney District Council closed the pool in 2009 because it could not afford the £100,000 to bring it up to standard.
A group of campaigners desperate to save the pool set up Beccles Lido Ltd and leased the site from the council.
The group won grants to carry out the necessary work and the pool has officially reopened.
The group were awarded a £140,000 grant from British Gas to service the old boilers, replace the chlorination plant, re-paint the pool and add trees and fencing.
