The Prince of Wales has visited St Edmundsbury Cathedral in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

Prince Charles was visiting the cathedral to witness the dedication of the vaulted ceiling, completed in March 2010.

The ceremony was conducted by the Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, the Rt Rev Nigel Stock.

Bishop Nigel also dedicated the church organ which was rebuilt last year and was first heard in November.

The bishop said: "This is a good time to celebrate and enjoy the cathedral and the music.

"Everyone who has heard the organ has found it a very impressive experience, and the quality of the other work at the cathedral is outstanding.

"It has created a beautiful space, with a real coherence."
