EastEnders star June Brown awarded UCS doctorate

June Brown, who is best known for playing Dot Branning in EastEnders, is to receive an honorary doctorate from University Campus Suffolk.
The Needham Market-born actor is being honoured alongside graduating students.
Doctorates will also go to Ipswich Town Football Club chief executive Simon Clegg, the Royal Ballet's Gary Avis and entrepreneur William Kendall.
Celia Anderson, Dr Akmal Makhdum, Terry Hunt and Nigel Pickover will receive honorary fellowships.
Mr Hunt and Mr Pickover hold the role of editor at the East Anglian Times and Ipswich Evening Star respectively.
Dr Makhdum is deputy medical director and consultant psychiatrist at Suffolk Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.
Ms Anderson works for the East of England Energy Group, where UCS says she is "delivering routes into the industry for people of all skill levels".
The graduation ceremonies will be held in the autumn.
