In pictures: EACH Treehouse hospice in Ipswich
The Treehouse hospice in Ipswich was opened to families by East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) in May 2011. Five-year-old Joseph, who has cerebral palsy, is one of the children who has been treated there.
The EACH Treehouse Appeal to raise £3m for the new hospice started in March 2010. Work began straight away to clear the four acre woodland site on St Augustine's Gardens.
The hospice replaced a much smaller bungalow on Walker Close in Ipswich. It provides care for life-limited children and their families.
Michelle Parkins, family support practitioner for EACH, provides a sensory activity involving "gloop" - a mixture of corn flour, water and food colouring. Tilly Jennings, six, from Felixstowe, has a chronic heart condition and got stuck in with her older sister Brooke.
The garden features parabolic reflectors. Callum, 12, who has 3C syndrome, stands in front of one dish with his parents Paul and Di Wombwell. His sister Lydia speaks into the other dish and the sound travels between the two.
In the music room, Darryll Streatfield, strums the strings on the outside of the sound cradle, while his 17-month-old daughter Ava lies inside listening to the sounds. The music room also has drums, guitars and keyboards.
William Davis, 12, and his dad Nick, from Bury St Edmunds, play computer games on a big screen in the Sensory Room. William has tuberous sclerosis. Mr Davis said: "The new hospice is absolutely fantastic - such a difference and improvement on the old hospice."
The hospice has six bedrooms for children and one is connected to a family suite where relatives can stay. Tyler Ford, nine, from Harwich has cerebral palsy and his family checked out the suite.
The new hospice has a much bigger kitchen where Marianne Gilmore, senior care assistant, helps out.
The Treehouse also has a hydrotherapy pool.
