Man dies after fall on to boat at Felixstowe port

A man described by police as a foreign national has died at a container port in Suffolk.

Officers were called to the Felixstowe docks by the port's own police force at about 07:45 GMT following the death.

They were responding to reports that the man had fallen on to a boat. He was pronounced dead at the scene but no further details have yet been given.

The area has been cordoned off and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency is to be informed, a police spokeswoman said.
