Suffolk Foundation's cash from winter fuel payments

  • Published

A Suffolk charity has raised over £40,000 to help vulnerable people in the county keep warm in the winter.

Suffolk Foundation asked people to donate their government-awarded winter fuel payment of up to £300 if they did not require it.

Judy Numan said the Surviving Winter campaign has so far raised £43,300.

She said: "A lot of people, particularly in rural Suffolk, struggle when the temperature drops a little so the extra support has been invaluable."
