Opposition walks out of Suffolk County Council meeting

Opposition councillors have walked out of a full council meeting at Suffolk County Council.
Green Party councillor Mark Ereira tabled a motion asking the Tory-run council to support communities in setting up 20mph speed limits.
Labour and Liberal Democrat councillors walked out after a reworded motion by the Conservative Party was passed.
Guy McGregor, portfolio holder for roads, said the amended version was easier for everyone to understand.
'Pathetic' decision
Mr McGregor said the motion put forward at the meeting held at the council's Endeavour House headquarters in Ipswich was "convoluted and difficult to understand".
He described the decision to leave the meeting as "pathetic".
Councillor Sandy Martin, leader of the Labour Group, said the revised motion had removed "any mentions of communities, local residents, civic amenity groups, town and parish councils".
"They are absolutely determined not to debate any of the motions that are put forward by any of the opposition councillors," said Mr Martin.
"Every time there is a motion put forward, instead of discussing the merits of the proposals put forward by other councillors, they have to amend it out of existence."
