Plans have been submitted for a £20m development in Suffolk which will include 176 new homes.

Paper Mill Lane Properties' development of the former Fisons factory site in Bramford would also feature a business centre and shops.

The number of proposed houses has risen from 130 and the height of an apartment block lowered by two storeys after a public consultation.

Mid Suffolk District Council will consider the plans early next year.

A cycle route and footpaths would also be created to improve links to Bramford, the developer said.

If granted planning permission, construction could start at the end of 2013 with the business centre expected to open in 2015.

Fertiliser company Fisons operated from the site from 1858 until 2003.
