Suffolk County Council leader Mark Bee to step down
- Published
The leader of Suffolk County Council is to stand down after four years in charge.
Mark Bee took over as leader of the Conservative-run council in 2011, taking over from Jeremy Pembroke.
Last April there was an unsuccessful challenge to Mr Bee's leadership of the Conservative group by Colin Noble, who was later dropped from the cabinet.
A new leader is expected to be chosen when the group has its annual general meeting on Tuesday.
No reasons have yet been given for Mr Bee's departure.
