A Parkrun organiser celebrated his group's second anniversary by delivering a pre-event safety briefing in the style of Blur's Parklife hit.

Elvis Presley impersonator Simon Goldsmith urged people not to "lie in bed eating chocolate" but to get "a sense of enormous smugness" from joining Kesgrave Parkrun in Suffolk.

The delivery driver presented the briefing to about 300 runners.

A "middle class rap" he performed in July proved a hit on social media.

What is Parkrun?

The 42-year-old said: "I thought it would be a bit of fun to seek inspiration from the Blur hit on our second birthday."

Runners joined in the chorus of "we all go hand-in-hand to Kesgrave Parkrun", which can be seen on the group's Facebook account, external.

Kesgrave Parkrun began in September 2014 with about 100 runners. The free event now attracts between 300 and 400 runners, who run or walk 5km.

They meet at Millennium Field at Kesgrave in Ipswich.

Mr Goldsmith said: "It feels like nearly everyone from Kesgrave housing estate joins in."

He is one of 10 volunteer organisers who take it in turns to deliver a pre-event briefing before the runners set off.

Parkruns, a free, weekly event, takes place around the world.
