Ipswich house fire leaves man in critical condition

Police said an investigation was under way into the cause of the fire in Macaulay Road, Ipswich

A man is in a critical condition after suffering serious burns in a house fire.

Emergency services were called to Macaulay Road in Ipswich at 20:15 BST on Wednesday.

Suffolk Police said a man in his 40s, who was inside the property, was taken to hospital.

The force appealed for anybody with information about the blaze to get in touch and said it was working with fire investigators to determine the cause.
