The 2023 fireworks display at Heveningham Hall, near Halesworth, was due to take place on 4 November

A fireworks display has been cancelled due to "widespread issues" caused by bad weather.

Heveningham Hall in Suffolk was due to hold its annual fireworks display on Saturday, 4 November.

A statement from the events team explained that while the news was disappointing, their "first priority is keeping guests, volunteers and staff safe".

They confirmed all ticket holders would be refunded in the next few days.

Storm Babet caused severe flooding across England, with a major incident declared in Suffolk after numerous roads and buildings were under water.

While the major incident was later stood down, many communities have still been dealing with the aftermath and rain is set to continue throughout the coming week.

Melanie C was due to headline the on-stage entertainment at Heveningham, with Danny Toeman, The Fever Kings and Spark! LED Drummers also on the bill.

Heveningham Hall said it was a "difficult decision" and thanked "suppliers, partners and the local community for your continued support".
