A landlady has described her excitement after Ed Sheeran paid her pub a visit.
The global music superstar surprised locals at The Rumburgh Buck, near Halesworth, Suffolk, as he attended a friend's birthday celebrations on Saturday.
Avid Ipswich Town fan Sheeran ensured he did not miss his team's 2-2 draw against Birmingham City on his visit.
"He asked if he could use the internet to watch his football," said landlady Stella Cattermole.
She explained: "We had a lunch booking for a local lad who was having his birthday.
"He put an order into the kitchen for three scampi and chips, as he'd got a couple more friends joining him."
To Ms Cattermole's surprise, Sheeran, 32, and his wife Cherry Seaborn, 31, walked into the pub shortly afterwards.
"My husband couldn't believe that he was actually cooking for Ed Sheeran," she said.
According to Ms Cattermole, Sheeran and friends took over the pub's games room to play pool, but kept an eye on the Ipswich match on his phone.
"They had a few guitars and were singing a few songs. It was all very exciting," she said.
In July, the Buck was named Suffolk Camra (Campaign for Real Ale) Pub of the Year 2023.
"He was well into his real ales, which obviously Rumburgh Buck is all about, so I was really impressed with him," said Ms Cattermole.
She recalled that Sheeran started with an Oscar Wilde before trying "various bitters".
She said: "He's just a really lovely, very polite, regular guy."
In October, Sheeran, who grew up and still lives in Suffolk, was spotted pulling pints for fans at Portman Road before the Ipswich Town vs Hull City game.
Earlier he had visited his former school, Thomas Mills High, in Framlingham.
