Police find body of man in River Deben after he is reported missing

The body was found near Glevering Bridge, Wickham Market

The body of an elderly man has been found in a Suffolk river.

Police found the body in the River Deben, near Glevering Bridge, Wickham Market, at about 12:55 GMT on Thursday.

Suffolk Police said the man had been reported missing earlier that day and was pronounced dead at the scene.

His death is being treated as unexplained but said they did not believe there were any suspicious circumstances.

The man's next of kin have been informed.
