The woman was attacked in Second Avenue in Sudbury by a Staffy-type dog, police said

A woman was walking home at night when she was bitten in the stomach by a dog, police have said.

The victim was attacked by one of two Staffy-type dogs in Second Avenue, Sudbury, at 03:30 GMT on Saturday.

They were being walked by a woman described as being in her 50s, Suffolk Constabulary said.

The woman was not seriously hurt and said the dogs were not known to her. Anyone with information was urged to contact the force.
