Inflata Nation said they were disappointed by the disruption "but the matter is out of our hands"

An inflatable park had to be evacuated and closed on its opening day.

Inflata Nation opened a branch in Ipswich, Suffolk, at the former Unit 17 nightclub in Cardinal Park on Saturday.

The company said a "strong smell of glue" became apparent due to "renovations elsewhere in the complex"

The smell meant restaurants at Cardinal Park were evacuated and Inflata Nation "were left with no choice but to do the same".

"Earlier today one of the blowers at our new site in Ipswich failed, which led to a small part of the arena deflating slightly," the company said.

"While we temporarily suspended the bounce session, a strong smell of glue - which we believe was due to renovations elsewhere in the complex - became apparent.

"This meant some of the restaurants at Cardinal Park had to evacuate customers and we were left with no choice but to do the same.

"We are disappointed that the opening day of Inflata Nation Ipswich has been disrupted but the matter is out of our hands and we hope to be fully open as soon as possible."

The Ipswich branch of Inflata Nation reopened on Sunday.
