Ipswich man in court accused of rape and impersonating a police officer

Trevor Maiden appeared at Suffolk Magistrates' Court

A man has appeared in court charged with rape, impersonating a police officer, kidnap and strangulation.

Trevor Maiden, 55, of Cavendish Street in Ipswich, faces six charges including three counts of rape involving two women aged 16 or over in November 2023.

He appeared in front of Suffolk Magistrates earlier, who referred the case to Ipswich Crown Court.

Mr Maiden, who has yet to enter a plea, was remanded in custody until the next hearing in April.
