A14 Orwell Bridge carriageway closed after car overturns

The eastbound carriageway of the A14 was expected to reopen sometime after 18:30 BST

One carriageway of the A14 on the Orwell Bridge at Ipswich was closed for about four hours due to an overturned car.

Suffolk Police said a car and a lorry collided at 12:13 BST and a woman was taken to hospital.

The eastbound carriageway was closed between junction 56 at Wherstead and junction 57 at Nacton, causing significant delays.

National Highways, external said on social media, external the road reopened just after 16:00.

East of England Ambulance Service said it sent one ambulance and one officer vehicle.

The woman was taken to Ipswich Hospital for "further care".
