Greene King brewery fire in Bury St Edmunds tackled by crews

Firefighters have been tackling a blaze at Greene King's headquarters in Suffolk.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was confined to an exterior cooling tower at the brewery in Bury St Edmunds.

Three crews were dispatched at 08:33 BST and used jet hoses to extinguish the flames.

The spokesperson confirmed the fire was extinguished by 08:53 and the crews were stood down at 09:25.

A Greene King spokesperson said: "A small fire broke out in the cooling tower outside our main brewery this morning, which was quickly contained.

"We would like to thank the firefighters and our teams for their quick response."
