Bury St Edmunds man in court accused of child sex offences

A 63-year-old man has appeared in court charged with 14 counts of child sex offences.

Kevin Brett, of Beyton Road in Thurston, Suffolk, is accused of engaging in sexual activity with, and making indecent images of, a child.

He appeared at Ipswich Magistrates' Court, which referred the case to Ipswich Crown Court.

Mr Brett has been released on conditional bail until his next hearing in May.

The charges include six counts of making indecent images of a child, three counts of attempting to engage in non penetrative sexual activity with a child, three counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, one count of assault by touching, and one count of voyeurism.

The offences are said to have taken place in Bury St Edmunds between January 2018 and June 2021.
