Residents are being urged to have their say on the "tough choices" facing public services in Surrey.

Surrey County Council officials will join police leaders, NHS staff and representatives from voluntary organisations in a public debate.

Dr Andrew Povey, the leader of the council, said it was "essential" residents had their say.

The debate takes place at Salesian School in Chertsey at 1900 GMT on Thursday.

The panel will include Dr Andrew Povey, Surrey Police Chief Constable Mark Rowley and NHS Surrey chairman David Clayton-Smith.

The council has said it needs to save £40m to £80m more over the four years.

"Tough choices will have to be taken by all of us in the public sector over the next few years," said Dr Povey.
