A hawk and its perch have been stolen from a recycling centre in Surrey where the bird was kept to guard the area and scare off other animals.
The harris hawk, stolen on Sunday morning, was one of three placed at various positions at the civic amenity site off Charlton Lane in Shepperton.
The bird, worth £200, had a metal identification ring on its leg. The 6ft (2m) metal perch is also worth £200.
Surrey Police said searches of the area had failed to locate the hawk.
Officers are appealing to anyone who was in the Charlton Road area, who might have vital information, to come forward.
