The Olympic Games has boosted inquiries about Surrey tourists attractions by 55%, tourism bosses have said.

Diana Roberts, of Guildford tourist information centre, said visits to their website were also up by 35% in January and February, from last year.

She said the number of early hotel bookings was a positive sign.

The Olympic cycle road race passes through the county and 23 teams will be based in Surrey before and during the games, Surrey County Council said.

Surrey County Council has been holding workshops to help businesses benefit from the Olympics.
