Take That's Gary Barlow has signed up to play a gig in the Surrey pub owned by DJ Chris Evans to raise money for BBC Children in Need.

The singer will appear at the Mulberry Inn in Chiddingfold, Surrey, next year.

"I've played many venues in my life - stadiums, arenas, theatres," he said on Evans's BBC Radio 2 show.

"I've always dreamed of playing this venue, which is the only reason I've agreed to it really other than the charity aspect."

Tickets for the gig will be raffled to raise money for the charity.

Barlow helped to organise the Children In Need Rocks gig in Manchester at the end of 2011, where he performed alongside Lady Gaga and Coldplay.

Last month he announced a 15-date solo UK tour, beginning in Bournemouth on 13 November and fitting round his commitments as a judge on The X Factor.

Take That will begin recording their group seventh studio album in 2013.
