Surrey towns apply for government cycle path funding

  • Published

Two Surrey towns could install more cycle paths if a bid for government money is successful.

Surrey County Council has applied for £1.5m in funding for cycle paths in Walton-on-Thames and Leatherhead.

The schemes would link up both of the town centres to schools and shops. The funding would be provided by the Department for Transport.

The council said the government money would make bicycle journeys safer and easier.
