Birdworld in Farnham announces expansion plans

The UK's largest bird park has revealed major expansion plans.
Birdworld, in Farnham, plans to add a 1,000sqft indoor play area and an outdoor "magical village".
Development director Matt Hill said it would continue to care for its 1,200 birds and this would mark "a new chapter in Birdworld's rich and much-loved history".
Work is forecast to commence in 2025, subject to planning approval, and would be the largest in its 54-year history.
Mr Hill said: "This transformation is not just a renovation, but a reinvention, creating a vibrant, year-round destination that will change the way families will learn through play.
"Embracing the essence of adventure and discovery, it promises to be a cornerstone for family memories, and is a testament to our commitment to enriching the lives of our community, offering an experience in wildlife appreciation and conservation."
The redevelopment is set to occur alongside an upgrade to the neighbouring Haskins' Forest Lodge Garden Centre.
Gemma, a local mother, said: "The big pull for us as a young family would be the play areas especially the indoor barn.
"This is something Farnham doesn't have and desperately needs as many families are moved to the area in the last few years.
"This alone would create a huge footfall helping to support and fund the wider project. I would consider an annual pass for this alone."
Other new features on the proposed plans include an enhanced focus on accessible play, with new installations around the park ensuring that they are access-friendly.
It also plans to refurbish the parks café and relocate its entrance.
