Guildford Borough Council appoints new chief executive

Pedro Wrobel will take the top job at Guildford and Waverley Borough Councils
A new chief executive has been confirmed for a council juggling a budget deficit and an investigation into fraud in its housing department.
Pedro Wrobel will take the top job at Guildford Borough Council, a £165,000-role shared with neighbouring Waverley.
His appointment was approved by both councils at separate meetings on Tuesday, and he will start in spring.
The incumbent, Tom Horwood, announced his resignation in September partly for health reasons.
Mr Wrobel, currently executive director for innovation and change at Westminster City Council, said: "I'm delighted to have been appointed as chief executive for Guildford and Waverley Borough Councils, and I'm really looking forward to getting stuck in."
