Epsom College pays tribute to head teacher on death anniversary

Epsom College is remembering Emma Pattison - its first female head teacher - through a series of "quiet, reflective events"
A school has paid tribute to its former head teacher and her daughter on the anniversary of their deaths.
Emma Pattison, 45, was found dead alongside seven-year-old Lettie, in the grounds of Epsom College, in Surrey, on 5 February 2023.
Mrs Pattison's husband, George Pattison, is believed to have shot them at their home before killing himself.
The school said the pair were "always in our thoughts, never more so than today", in a post on X, external.
On Monday, a school spokesperson said: "Yesterday and today, the college has been remembering the lives of Emma and Lettie through a series of quiet, reflective events held at the college for our pupils, staff and families."
They said the wider community had been invited to a performance of live music, which was "one of Emma's passions in life", on Sunday evening.

Mrs Pattison became the first female head of Epsom College in September 2022, after six years as head teacher of Croydon High School in south London.
Following her death, it was announced Sir Anthony Seldon would temporarily lead the independent school until a permanent head was found.
In November 2023, Mark Lascelles was appointed to begin the role in September 2024.

Previous tributes to Mrs Pattison described her as "full of optimism".
In a past statement released by police, Mrs Pattison and Lettie's family said the pair were "inseparable".
"We take comfort in that they will remain so," they said.
An inquest into the deaths found Mrs Pattison died of shock, haemorrhage and shotgun wounds.
The court heard Mrs Pattison had been shot in the abdomen and chest, and that Lettie had died of a shotgun wound to the head.
A separate inquest for George Pattison found he died from a shotgun wound to the head.
