A developer is appealing against a council's decision to reject plans for a housing development near Gatwick Airport.

The application to build 446 properties on greenbelt land west of Reigate Road, in Hookwood, Horley, Surrey, also included community buildings and travellers pitches.

It was initially turned down by Mole Valley District Council.

The Planning Inspectorate will consider the appeal.

A date has yet to be set for when the inspectorate will make a final decision.
