The public and staff have been thanked by bosses of a Surrey hospital after a critical incident due to a power failure on Monday was stood down.
The incident at the East Surrey Hospital in Redhill was declared after an outage impacted its intensive care and high dependency units.
Patients from the affected wards were moved elsewhere in the hospital.
While the hospital remained open throughout, patients were asked to use other services where possible.
The hospital is run by the Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
Ed Cetti, chief medical officer, said on Tuesday evening the critical incident had been stood down.
He said: "I want to thank the public for their support as we worked to get the two units affected back up and running.
"I also want to thank all our teams, our system colleagues, and the ambulance service, for their immense efforts in ensuring we were able to continue to provide safe care for all those in need.
"Despite the challenges we faced, our essential services remained open throughout."
Dr Cetti said the hospital's full elective lists were expected to operate as planned on Wednesday.
