A total of 34 jobs are to go at the East Sussex packaging facility of a pharmaceutical firm.
Teva UK, which employs 200 people at its Hampden Park base in Eastbourne, said some operations were being moving to other European sites.
The firm produces a number of generic drugs including unbranded painkillers, antibiotics, and cholesterol reducing medicines.
It describes its Eastbourne site as a "centre of excellence for packaging".
A spokeswoman for Teva UK said: "We can confirm that 34 employees based at our Eastbourne site are currently under consultation for redundancy.
"We at Teva take our responsibilities as an employer very seriously, and those affected will be fully supported throughout the process."
