Hove beach hut proves too colourful for council

The owner of a beach hut on Hove seafront has clashed with the city council over its garish makeover.
Jeff Allen asked a friend to paint the hut, but the transformation proved too colourful for civic officials.
Brighton and Hove City Council, whose rules require beach huts to be largely of uniform colour, wants it repainted.
Mr Allen promised it would be. He said: "So many people love it, but this should never have happened. It has certainly ruffled a few feathers."
