Drusillas Park in Sussex 'inundated' with bamboo

A zoo in Sussex has been "inundated" with donations after an appeal was made for bamboo to feed a panda.
Drusillas Park, in Alfriston, rehomed Qui, a red panda from Les Sables Zoo in France, in September.
However, a shipment of bamboo from Italy was delayed and the zoo team found themselves running low of food for the panda.
Drusillas received more than 100 phone calls and emails with offers of bamboo from the local community and abroad.
Sue Woodgate, zoo manager, said: "We have been completely overwhelmed by the generosity that people have shown towards Qiu.
"We are currently working through the list and have been out to collect fresh bamboo from gardens in the local area.
"We look forward to introducing Qiu to our visitors when she moves into her new enclosure, which we hope will be ready by Easter."
