King Alfred Leisure Centre upgrade completed

Essential improvements to a Sussex leisure centre, which was going to be pulled down and redeveloped, have been completed.
The King Alfred Leisure Centre in Hove needed the upgrade to continue operating after redevelopment plans collapsed in 2008.
A £1.6m programme of repairs and improvements has been carried out on the building, which dates from 1938.
In January a new £450,000 gym opened at the centre.
The improvements included complete replacement of changing cubicles and lockers, new toilets, showers and flooring, and improved disabled access.
The centre's general manager Stuart Crawford said: "We would like to thank all our customers for bearing with us over the course of the last few months but the wait has definitely been worth it."
A special open day is being held on Saturday 16 June.
