Two teenagers have appeared in court charged with murdering a man who was attacked outside a shop in East Sussex.

Chris Poole, 46, was attacked in the Hydneye area of Eastbourne shortly before 21:00 BST on 16 August. He died from his injuries the next day.

Shane Noble, 19, of no fixed address, and a 15-year-old boy appeared before Eastbourne magistrates earlier.

Both were remanded in custody, the 15-year-old in local authority care, to appear at Lewes Crown Court on Tuesday.

The boy, from Eastbourne, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared in court separately.

Police said a 13-year-old boy, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, had been released on bail until 3 September.

A post-mortem examination showed Mr Poole died from head injuries.
