Crawley shops asked to 'hide' super-strength alcohol
- Published
Shops selling super-strength beers and ciders in a Sussex town are being asked to put the products out of the sight of customers to help tackle anti-social behaviour.
Retailers in Crawley are also being asked to put stickers on each can over 6% saying where it is purchased.
Crawley and Gatwick Business Watch, which is behind the plan, believes it will help to "pinpoint" problem areas.
Sussex Police has expressed support for the scheme.
Tony Baldock, from Crawley and Gatwick Business Watch, said: "[The scheme] looks at removing those from explicit sale and putting them behind the counter.
"It helps us pinpoint problems, it also helps us to find the people who need our help, but it also may cut off the supply."
