Withdean Sports Complex's £2.7m revamp approved

A sports complex used by former Olympic champions will undergo a £2.7m transformation after Brighton and Hove City Council approved plans.

The Withdean Sports Complex will see a new glazed extension built, to accommodate a larger fitness suite, a cafe and new exercise studios.

The council also gave permission for a temporary track stand to remain.

Brighton and Hove Albion used the complex as a temporary stadium prior to moving into the Amex stadium.

The council said the work will be paid for by additional income generated from the complex.

Work is expected to start in February.
